Global Recycled Standard

WHAT IS THE GLOBAL RECYCLED STANDARD (GRS)?

Control Union Certifications originally developed the Global Recycle Standard (GRS) in 2008 and ownership was passed to the Textile Exchange on 1 January 2011. The GRS is an international, voluntary, full-product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions.

This certification was acquired by us for the product categories of Outdoor and Carried Accessories. A thorough inspection of our processing steps and activities in manufacturing, packing, warehousing, extrusion, and mechanical recycling was conducted to acquire this certification. A routine inspection must be conducted and passed to maintain this certification. We are very pleased to take our steps to preserve the environment.

To ensure the strength and uniform color of final products, we use 30% virgin resin (Makrolon ET3113) on the top layer and 70% GRS-certified recycled material.

Do you know what are the benefits of passing GRS certification?

Businesses that get GRS certification stand to benefit greatly in a world in which customers are more motivated to purchase from companies that can demonstrate their environmental credentials. It's one of those certificates that guarantee better peace of mind, both internally and externally, by demonstrating to your coworkers, customers, and other stakeholders that your company is attempting to make the world a better place for future generations.

The GRS is all about verification, showing that our company is following social, environmental, and chemical best practices. It shows potential customers that no exploitation is taking place and that the environmental impact is minimal.
